About Elijah
Meet Elijah - a vibrant, fun-loving 19-year-old who brings energy and joy to everyone around him. Elijah is passionate about music (he's a huge Taylor Swift fan), loves watching football and rugby, enjoys trips to the cinema, and absolutely thrives when he's outdoors or in the pool for hydrotherapy. He's intelligent, sociable, and has an infectious enthusiasm for life.
Elijah is non-verbal and has complex health needs including epilepsy, PEG feeding, tracheostomy care, and requires regular suctioning and physiotherapy. He relies on his brilliant care team 24/7 with two healthcare assistants always supporting him. Elijah is quadriplegic, meaning he cannot move his arms or legs. He needs help moving around, including the use of a hoist and a powered wheelchair. He is also incontinent and requires support with toileting.

It is essential for candidates to have a genuine passion for supporting with complex needs. Candidates must also have a full driving license and have access to their own vehicle.
About The Role
This role is centered around Elijah, strong teamwork and flexibility.
What Youll Be Doing
Getting to know Elijah- learning his unique personality, how he communicates through body language, facial expressions, eye gaze, and symbols, and understanding his brilliant sense of humour
Supporting Elijah with all aspects of personal care, clinical needs (suctioning, PEG feeds, physiotherapy), and transfers using specialist equipment
Working indifferent locations- this isn't a static role You'll accompany Elijah to:
School runs and educational activities
Cinema trips, hydrotherapy sessions, and outdoor adventures
Days out in the community
Weekend breaks and social events
Family holidays- yes, you may have the opportunity to travel away with the family (expenses covered)
Hospital admissions when needed
Household support- shopping, household chores, and helping maintain Elijah's home environment
Nutrition: Prepare his daily feeds and administer them safely. Elijah does not eat or drink by mouth and receives all nutrition through a PEG tube
Building a trusting relationship with Elijah and working closely with his mum and the care team
Shift Pattern
12.5-hour shiftsrotating through:
Days:06:45 - 19:15
Waking Nights:18:45 - 07:15
Weekends(alternate)
Bank Holidaysincluding Christmas (as part of rotation)
Applicants must be available and willing to work a combination of day and night shifts on different days each week. Shifts are allocated in 4-week blocks(Rota), released at least 2 weeks prior to rota starting. Carers can request days off ahead of rota being written.
Pay Structure
£14/hour during probation and training
£15/hour weekdays (once competent)
£16/hour weeknights
£17/hour weekends
