Barking & Dagenham College have an opportunity for a Lecturer - ESOL looking to work in this supportive, forward-thinking college.
We're recruiting for a Lecturer - ESOL to join our Adult Skills team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The salary scale for this role is £25,494 - £44,526 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, depending on qualifications and experience.
The Role;
You'll provide inspiration, skill and practical experience to students across our department's courses. You'll also contribute to the development of our course offer, building on our innovative provision.
Key responsibilities of our Lecturer - ESOL;
* Plan and develops lessons, including the development of schemes of work
* Develop and implement learner-centred assessment methods, with focus on constructive and development feedback for our students
* Encourage, monitor and report on the attendance, progress and achievements of students
* Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforce health and safety standard in your area, ensuring all students understand and comply
* Undertake personal coaching and pastoral responsibilities for designated students in order to support them in their own development and future progression
* Keep abreast of industry developments in your specialist area to ensure the relevance and continued employability of our students
* Actively participate in continuing professional development around theory and practice within the education sector
Our ideal Lecturer - ESOL should have the following qualifications, skills and experience;
* Hold a teaching qualification and have experience of teaching in the Further or Higher Education sectors
* Possess a specialist ESOL teaching qualification or be prepared to undertake a subject specialist ESOL teaching qualification.
* Have recent and relevant experience of teaching ESOL from Entry Level to a minimum of Level 1.
All applicants should have good administrative skills and be able to accurately track students' attendance, progress and achievements.
