The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for an Embedded Software Engineer to join an established engineering business delivering automation solutions across a range of industrial sectors, including manufacturing, food processing, and related environments.
This is a hands-on role offering exposure to the full project lifecycle — from design and development through to testing, commissioning, and ongoing support.
The Role
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* Designing, developing, and implementing control and automation systems
* Programming PLCs and HMIs using industry-standard platforms
* Supporting full project lifecycle delivery, including testing and commissioning
* Troubleshooting and resolving issues within control systems
* Collaborating with internal teams to deliver project requirements
* Producing technical documentation and system specifications
* Supporting on-site installations and occasional travel to customer sites
What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to speak with engineers who have:
* Experience working with PLC programming and control systems
* Knowledge of automation systems within industrial environments
* Experience with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley platforms (or similar)
* Understanding of electrical systems and control panel design
* Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable (Not Essential)
* HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
* Experience within industrial or manufacturing environments
* Exposure to commissioning or on-site project work
Eligibility Criteria
* Must have the right to work in the UK
* Must be able to reliably commute to Haverhill, Suffolk
