Thesuccessful candidates will be required to:
Help patients face to face and on thephone
Make appointments and enter informationon a clinical computer system
Undertake general office and receptionduties, including scanning
Support colleagues and other healthprofessionals
Experienceis preferred but not essential, applicants must have a good general standard ofeducation including Maths and English and the ability to remain calm in a busyand sometimes challenging environment excellent customer service skills and thesensitivity to deal with our patients in a kind, efficient and confidentialmanner.

Main Purpose of Post:
Receive, assist anddirect patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professionalin a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide generalassistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image topatients and other visitors and professionals, either in person or via thetelephone.

Job responsibilities
a. Processand effectively signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional,depending on the presenting condition
b. Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestsappropriately
c. Processpatient requests for appointments
e. Initiatecontact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and externalagencies
g. Photocopydocumentation as required
h. Dataentry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information asrequired
i. Inputdata into the patients healthcare records as necessary
j. Directrequests for information, e.g., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLAforms, to the administrative team
k. Manageall queries as necessary in an efficient manner
l. Carryout clinical system searches as requested
m. Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
n. Monitorand maintain the reception area and noticeboards
o. Supportall clinical staff with general tasks as requested
p. Undertakeall mandatory training and induction programmes
q. Attend aformal appraisal with their manager at least every 12 months. Once aperformance/training objective has been set, progress will be reviewed on aregular basis so that new objectives can be agreed
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good sound basic education
* GCSE Maths or equivalent
* GCSE English or equivalent
* GCSE Mathematics and English (C or above)
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
Experience
* Experience of working with the general public
* Experience of administrative duties
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting
