The Quality Engineer position reports to the Senior Quality Manager OEM and Supplier Quality. This position provides Quality Engineering support with the goal to continuously improve product quality and reliability through evaluation and control. Through suitable communication, effective problem solving and active vigilance on applicable requirements, the Associate will ensure product quality and compliance with all relevant global regulations, BD requirements and customer expectations.
Main Responsibilities Will Include
* Support supplier complaint reduction activities, including initiatives, kaizen events, data review, and working with suppliers to implement improvements.
* Manage customer complaint analysis by performing signal assessments to be reported at QDA meetings.
* Support Supplier Change Requests (SCRs) as required.
* Support supplier-related issues, ensure timely resolution of supplier failures, corrective actions, and preventive actions, including PM activities and BD-owned assets directly linked to the materials used in the BD MX facilities.
* Owner of PCCs related to supplier changes using the Pega PCC process, including Idea Hub submissions and PE Project requests.
* Support Test Method Validation and related validation activities in BD labs.
* Support the calibration and maintenance processes for the Winnersh site.
* Perform supplier audits as requested.
15-20% Travel is required globally for this role.
About You
* A relevant engineering degree or HND is preferred, complemented by a strong understanding of ISO 13485, Medical Device Directives 93/42/EEC requirements, and MDR preferred. Experience from related sectors such as automation, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries will also be considered, including experience in quality assurance or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficiency in statistical techniques (Gage R&R, Acceptance Sampling, Process Capability, Statistical Process Control) and failure investigation methods (8M, Cause and Effect Analysis).
* A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently across multiple geographies and functions.
Salary range for the role: £42,000 - £50,000 + bonus + benefits.
