Overview
Pastoral Support Officer (Sixth Form) Grade 4 SCP 12 - 17, £28,598 - £31,022 per annum (Pro-rata). Full time, 36 hours 40 minutes per week. Term Time only plus 1 week. Permanent.
We are recruiting a Pastoral Support Officer to join our friendly, professional Sixth Form team, to work with young people aged 16-18. Our Sixth Form provision mirrors the traditional values and high expectations of The Blue Coat School. We aim to create a warm and welcoming learning environment to help students flourish and achieve their potential. The role supports students as they progress through sixth form studies, providing pastoral support, encouraging positive attitudes to learning and promoting excellent attendance. The role includes safeguarding initial response and referrals, general management of student wellbeing and welfare, and helping to organise sixth form events to ensure students settle in and are well prepared for post-18 journeys. It is a varied, challenging and rewarding role.
Responsibilities
* Provide pastoral support to Sixth Form students aged 16-18 to support academic progress and wellbeing.
* Respond to safeguarding initial referrals and manage related processes in line with policy.
* Support organisation of Sixth Form events and monitor student transition and welfare.
* Establish rapport with parents, staff and students; work with discretion on confidential matters.
* Assist with data understanding and apply practical improvements to support student outcomes.
* Work under pressure, manage workload, and plan, prioritise and organise effectively.
