This post sits within the Bariatric Dietetic team at st Richards Hospital and works closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide dietetic care to patients before and after bariatric surgery.

Main duties of the job
This post works as part of the dietetic and multidisciplinary teams to provide highly specialist advice, education and support to patients, carers and other health professionals within the speciality of bariatric surgery.
This post would provide training to undergraduate Dietitians, supervising their clinical placements.
There is also the opportunity to participate in continuing professional development, audit and research within this specialist area to further best practice.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. Sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds, and any role-specific criteria. For example, applicants for the Senior HCA role must be able to evidence a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the same role to qualify for sponsorship.
If you are applying using a Graduate visa as your right to work, you must have a minimum of 18 months remaining on your visa at time of application.
St Richard’s Hospital, is a 450-bed district general hospital situated in Chichester and is part of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
We are a friendly team and provide a variety of dietetic specialities including acute, diabetes, gastroenterology, paediatrics, bariatrics, nutrition support, eating disorders and community Dietetics.
We train student dietitians for A, B and C placements.

Essential criteria
1. Degree or post graduate diploma dietetics
2. HCPC registered Dietitian
3. At least 3 years post graduate NHS experience with at least 2 years at senior level
4. Recent experience of working in the nutritional management of patients in this speciality
5. Experience of Multidisciplinary working
6. Experience of managing own complex caseload
7. Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
8. Able to motivate self and others
9. Able to deal with demanding and distressed patients and their carers
10. Ability to adapt to change in planning activities
