Vickerstock are working in partnership with a multi-faceted firm on the appointment of a Health & Safety Coordinator.
As the Health & Safety Coordinator, you will support the business in improving Health & Safety performance, drive a culture of continuous improvement and ensure legislative compliance.
In your new role:
1. Oversee and verify compliance with Health & Safety regulations across all departments
2. Carry out routine site inspections and audits
3. Prepare and regularly review risk assessments and safe systems of work
4. Identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures
5. Attend monthly meetings and present relevant Health & Safety data
6. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; compile reports and suggest corrective actions
7. Ensure all health and safety documentation is up to date, including policies, procedures, and audit records
8. Deliver Health & Safety training and induction sessions to staff and contractors
9. Act as the main point of contact and liaise with external Health & Safety authorities to ensure legal compliance
10. Maintain records of safety-related incidents and produce statistics for management
11. Support the development and implementation of emergency procedures and evacuation plans
12. Keep up to date with changes in legislation and industry best practice
What you will need to succeed:
13. Experience within a similar H&S role
14. Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH)
15. Understanding of HSE legislation and regulations
16. Experience with RAMS, auditing, reporting
17. Good communication skills
18. IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
19. Full clean driving license
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
20. IOSH Membership
21. Additional H&S certifications
22. Experience within the manufacturing sector
