Taylor Woodrow is the sole provider for Lot 3 – Western Geotechnical Off-Track and Drainage – within Network Rail’s £2bn Wales and Western region programme of works.
The Lot covers the route from London Paddington to Penzance and involves the ongoing maintenance and renewal of civil engineering assets, including embankments, cuttings, scour protection, and earthworks drainage.
As part of this project, we are currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor with a Civil Engineering background to be based out of the Bristol working across a number of schemes.
Duties Include:
* Manage the preparation of the monthly CVR and associated commercial reports.
* Report and explain the commercial progress to senior divisional staff
* Work with other members of the team, produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value
* Continually monitor projected costs to completion in line with budget
* Ensure that necessary interface information between customer, sub-contractors and other departments is provided in a timely manner
* Monitor cash flow and valuation plan, ensuring applications are made correctly and in a timely manner
* Advise on alternative forms of contract & procurement arrangements.
* Management and reporting of Commercial Risk and Opportunity
* Reclaim costs from client
Person Specification:
* BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying
* Working understanding of NEC contracts
* Experience with self-delivery of works is desirable but not essential
* Ability to prepare CVRs and monthly financial reports
