Community Stack was born with a mission to strengthen the UK's third sector by delivering cutting-edge digital infrastructure, curating transformative industry events, and establishing open standards that maximise social impact. We operate through three core pillars: Open Community Project (shared standards), Community Stack Labs (open-source tools), and Ecosystems (collaborative communities).

Our thriving communities include GenAI UK (with over 1,250 members), and more are currently being developed. We're building the digital backbone that enables charities, social enterprises, and grassroots organisations to amplify their impact.


We're seeking an Assistant Community Manager to join our Events & Conference Division, supporting the operational excellence of our technology user groups and industry events. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in community settings and desire to make a positive social impact through technology.


Core responsibilities:


Event Operations & Logistics

* Coordinate venue sourcing, booking, and management for user group meetups and conferences
* Manage event logistics, including catering, AV setup, registration systems, and attendee experience.
* Support event planning from concept through execution and post-event analysis

Speaker Management

* Source, coordinate, and manage speakers for technology events across our communities
* Maintain speaker databases and relationships with industry experts
* Handle speaker briefings, travel arrangements, and coordination

Community Operations

* Support the day-to-day operations of our technology user groups and communities.
* Assist with content creation, social media management, and community engagement.
* Help maintain community platforms and communication channels

Travel & Events

* Occasional on-site event support may be required from time to time
* Support conference operations, including registration, attendee management, and logistics
* Limited travel for regional events and partnerships when necessary


What we are looking for:


Essential:

* Experience in event management, community coordination, or similar roles
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Comfortable with technology platforms and digital tools
* Flexibility to work varied hours, including some evenings/weekends, for events

Desirable:

* Interest in technology communities, AI, cloud computing, or DevOps
* Experience with speaker management or content coordination
* Marketing experience, particularly digital marketing and community growth
* Understanding of the charity/third sector landscape
* Event management qualifications or relevant experience

Contract Details:

* Duration: 12-month fixed-term contract
