The Role
The role will assist the Site Operations Manager with the smooth running of the Ayr DC. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Transport Team and Warehouse.
Daily responsibilities include:
1. Support a safe and legally compliant Cross Dock and Transport operation
2. Supporting the Site Operations Manager ensuring that all processes are adhered to within the warehouse and transport, on site and on the road.
3. Supporting the Cross Dock operations, operating plans, fleet, equipment and resourcing levels meet demand
4. Exemplifies the company’s values and behaviours. Be an inspirational leader communicating consistently
5. Customer focused, ensuring all colleagues understand the impact their role has on customer service; managing performance to improve NPS.
6. Provide innovative solutions to continuously improve performance
7. Coach and mentor the team building talent and succession plans throughout the Cross Dock Operation.
8. Work closely with the Site Operations Manager to ensure efficiencies can be identified and best in practice procedures put into place
9. Supporting objective setting and performance reviews are in place for all colleagues
10. Help to Organise service and maintenance of MHE and vehicles in line with legal requirements
11. Help to Manage driver hours in line with working time legislation
Skills needed
12. Previous experience within a warehouse would be desirable.
13. Previous experience in Transport.
14. Good geographical knowledge
15. Extensive understanding of transport legislation
16. Computer Literacy
17. Effective communication style and ability to influence home delivery crews
18. Demonstrate the ability to improve team performance
