This is a fantastic opportunity to join our 2025 Apprenticeship Programme at Egis. We believe the key to our continued growth and success is the nurturing of enthusiastic, ambitious graduates who are excited by the unique challenges we tackle across our organisation and want to join us in making a positive impact across the globe.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nProject work\n⢠Undertake a wide variety of pre and post contract duties, ensuring at all times that best practice is employed including but not limited to;\na) Cost planning and estimation including life cycle costing, value management and engineering.\nb) Preparation of tender and contract documents including compiling bills of quantities.\nc) Administer contracts.\nd) Post contract cost management \n⢠Administer all project work in line with T&A policies, practices and procedures.\n⢠Representing T&A in the marketplace.\n⢠At all times acting on behalf of T&A in a polite and professional manner and ensuring that company values are maintained and promoted.\n⢠Ensuring efficient and timely implementation of all tasks and project requirements and making every effort to assist with maintaining projects on time and on budget.\n⢠Ensuring adequate and timely communication channels are in place, both internally and externally to support effective project delivery.\n⢠Coordinating and preparing information to support the Client, seeking and listening to the Clients requirements and acting on them accordingly.\n\nGeneral duties\n⢠Generally representing T&A in a professionally competent and positive manner, ensuring service quality and integrity is maintained to the highest possible standards.\n⢠Reporting as appropriate to the client and other stakeholders in line with the clientâs requirement with company standards.\n⢠Network and support business development objectives.\n⢠Build upon and maintain culture.\n⢠Mentor junior staff.\n⢠Participate in continuous professional development activities.\n⢠Comply with all T&A policies and procedures, including the use of the Document Management System.\n\nDelivering an excellent client experience\nThe QS will build strong, professional relationships with colleagues, clients, consultants and contractors, based on mutual respect, trust and integrity.\nIn this context, the role will involve: \n⢠Representing T&A, under senior direction, at project meetings with clients, designers and contractors to provide advice on all aspects of project assignments and following up on actions assigned to T&A at all such meetings.\n⢠Communicating clearly, concisely and coherently with colleagues, clients and other consultants regarding information required for the purpose of performing our services.\n As a Graduate Apprentice you will study for your degree alongside your job, spending approximately 80% of your time in work and 20% in university. This unique combination offers an integrated experience, where practical skills and knowledge gained during the university days can be embedded in your working practices. Skills learned directly in the workplace are aligned with and can be applied to coursework and assessment. This allows you to attain an honours degree in 4 years, the same time as traditional full-time students. \n\nYou will study on a Graduate Apprenticeship degree programme towards a BSc (Hons) Construction & the Built Environment at Edinburgh Napier University. \n\nQuantity Surveying - learn the skills involved in design economics, procurement strategies, cost planning and estimating, measurement and quantification of construction work, commercial management and professional practice.\n\nAs you progress through the course, more of your job role will be used to gain credit towards your final award. This is captured in the Professional Practice modules which allow us to personalise your learning to ensure it meets your needs, those of your employing organisation and the university.\n\nAs a trainee quantity surveyor, you will undertake a relevant degree in Quantity Surveying and will have the ambition to work hard, learn and succeed in a dynamic professional environment. The company will invest in you to develop into a commercial professional capable of undertaking the cost management role on construction projects. Time, care and attention will be given to you by our senior management team throughout your training. \n\nYou will be an integral part of the team and business, and your approach will represent T&Aâs company values. You will establish strong, supportive, professional relationships with colleagues, clients and the wider project teams built on mutual respect, trust and integrity all whilst contributing to Thomas and Adamsonâs strategic business growth. To meet our Standard Entry Requirements you must have EITHER: \nâ¢\tA minimum of four SQA Highers at Grade BBCC (including Maths) plus Nat 5 English at B\nâ¢\tA Foundation Apprenticeship in a related discipline plus suitable academic qualifications\nâ¢\tA Modern Apprenticeship or college qualification in in a related discipline \nâ¢\tSufficient recognition of prior learning (RPL) through industry-related experience, qualifications, and informal learning. RPL applications are considered on an individual basis\n\nYou must be able to provide proof of any qualifications stated on your CV to meet university entry requirements. \n\nAdvanced entry into Year 2 or 3 is possible for students with suitable qualifications. If applying for advanced entry, you will need to provide sufficient evidence of qualifications and experience through our process of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
