Role Overview:
As a Design Technology (DT) Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages, covering areas such as product design, resistant materials, and graphic design. Your role will be crucial in developing students creativity, craftsmanship, and confidence in using tools, materials, and technologies.
Responsibilities as a Design Technology Teacher:
* Teach the DT curriculum in an inspiring and accessible way across Key Stages.
* Plan and deliver creative, practical lessons that encourage innovation and skill-building.
* Support students with coursework, project work, and assessments.
* Maintain high standards of health and safety in classrooms and workshops.
* Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and promote a strong design culture within the school.
Requirements for the Design Technology Teacher role:
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* A degree in Design Technology or a related discipline.
* Experience teaching DT in a UK school is desirable.
* Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety practices in practical teaching.
* Strong classroom management and communication skills.
* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
