What you'll do
A day in the life of our Shift Engineer demands high energy levels. They need consistency despite the days never being the same, and creativity to tackle daily challenges. The responsibilities below are essential to know.
* Manage repairs, either in person or through subcontractors; respond to daily engineering issues; perform proactive routine maintenance and equipment inspections, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation.

* Maintain effective communication with other departments and the extended hotel team to ensure smooth operations, especially working closely with our Housekeeping teams to provide excellent service.

* Previous experience in a luxury 5-star hotel is beneficial but not essential.
* ONC/HNC or City & Guilds Building Services qualifications.
* Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering qualifications.
* Experience with building services and controls.
* Knowledge of BMS controls, heating & air conditioning equipment, plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical systems, and TV controls.
* Understanding of Health & Safety regulations and risk assessments.
