Company Description
Knott-Avonride Ltd manufactures light trailer axles and is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance within our organisation. This position requires a strong analytical mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality control processes that align with industry standards and best practices.
Role
Maintain the Quality Management System, including auditing and process control, according to ISO:9001 (latest revision).
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols.
Support the inspections and measurement of items at Goods Inwards, during production and final inspection as required to ensure adherence to the QMS.
Ensure measuring instruments are calibrated and used correctly.
Assist with in-house training by developing training material with relevant departments and delivering the material to members of staff.
Assist with performance improvement by providing suitable data and process analysis, including but not limited to compliance with relevant legislation.
Conduct regular internal audits by following the plan set out by Head Office.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
Communicate with customers and suppliers, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Ensure the correct flow of paperwork for activities within the control of the QA department.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Compliance with Company safety procedures and housekeeping requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering apprenticeship
HNC or equivalent Quality qualifications
QMS Auditing (ISO:9001)
H&S qualifications, ideally NEBOSH
Experience & Personal Attributes
Proven experience in quality engineering or quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
Management practices, e.g., PPAP, APQP, 8D, ISO 9001:2015
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency in quality management software and tools is an advantage.
