Job overview

We are recruiting for an Assistant Practitioner who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We are seeking to recruit a qualified Radiography Assistant Practitioner with a SCoR approved certificate of Higher Education (or equivalent) in Radiography with the drive to develop their clinical skills, as well as a desire to deliver excellent care to our patients.

The post holder will perform a limited range of general radiographic procedures under instruction and supervision from qualified radiographers.

Applications from Radiographers considering returning to practice are also welcome.

Main duties of the job

The Assistant Practitioner will undertake general radiographic procedures on adult ambulant patients adhering to departmental protocols under the supervision of a qualified radiographer.

The Radiology department has CR/DR systems, integrated with Philips PACS and encompass a comprehensive range of equipment including DR general and dental rooms, flat plate interventional room, hybrid theatre, CT, MRI, Breast Imaging, DXA Scanning, Spect CT scanner and a wide range of Ultrasound services. The Trust currently has 5 CT scanners and 3 MRI scanners.

The post holder will provide basic administrative support to Radiologists and Radiographers in the clinical environment.

This post requires 7 day working and you will rotate between the Lister Hospital, QEII Hospital and Hertford County Hospital.

Essential criteria

* Completed a recognized Assistant Practitioners course
* Understanding of IR(ME)R legislation

* Interest in technical QA
* Working knowledge of clinical governance
