Educato are working on behalf of an outstanding SEN school in the Oldham area who are looking recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with groups of identified pupils with Special Educational Needs. The school require two SEN Teaching Assistants to start with them in September. One Teaching Assistant will be supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and the other Teaching Assistant will be working with the Autism base. This is initially a supply post but there are opportunities to earn a school contract. The incoming SEN Teaching assistant will be expected to be ready to work in September 2025 on a full time basis
The Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be a key player in delivering high-quality support to children with Autism at a school based in Oldham. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to:
- Support pupils with PMLD
- Support pupils with Autism
- Assist with planning and delivering personalised learning activities
- Help develop communication, social, and emotional skills
- Contribute to detailed observations, assessments, and progress tracking
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure holistic support
What We're Looking For:
- Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent experience
- Graduates of Psychology and Sociology are encouraged to apply
- Sports graduates
- Team Teach is highly desirable
- Moving and Handling (If working with pupils with PMLD)
- A genuine passion for SEN and understanding of different learning needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, or other additional needs is a bonus
