Job Description
To support the Chief Information Security Officer in managing and reporting information security risks across Technology Services. This Senior Information Security Engineer role will lead the design, implementation and continual improvement of AJ Bell’s enterprise security tools, platforms and processes, driving innovation, automation and integration across the technology estate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead delivery and ongoing management of enterprise security solutions across Endpoint, Cloud, Network, DevOps and Security Monitoring
2. Design and implement secure infrastructure controls aligned to industry best practice
3. Identify, evaluate and implement new enterprise security tools and platforms
4. Drive adoption of new technologies, ensuring effective operational handover and value realisation
5. Lead and coordinate patch management activities across internal systems and hardware
6. Recommend and guide server hardening improvements with Infrastructure and Service Delivery teams
7. Support audits, regulatory reviews and due diligence activities
8. Provide security oversight across projects and change initiatives to protect AJ Bell’s security posture
9. Act as the integration point between the CISO function and Infrastructure teams
10. Contribute to the continuous improvement of cybersecurity risk management processes
Technical Expertise
11. Proven experience implementing enterprise security platforms
12. Strong understanding of security risk management tools and techniques
13. Deep knowledge of security solutions including SIEM, PAM, IGA, email/web gateways and endpoint protection
14. Experience with firewall technologies (highly desirable)
15. Knowledge of cloud security standards and solutions (highly desirable)
16. Strong understanding of core IT and networking principles
17. Awareness of current threat landscape and evolving attack vectors
Experience & Qualifications
18. Experience working within recognised frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST or similar
19. Significant experience within IT security
20. Financial services or e-commerce sector experience preferred
21. CISSP (attained or working towards) desirable
