1:1 Teaching Assistant – Colchester
Are you passionate about making a real difference in a child’s education? Protocol Education is looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a welcoming primary school in Colchester.
About the Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with one pupil, helping them access learning in a way that suits their individual needs. You'll be part of a supportive team, guided by the SENCO and class teacher, and play a vital role in the child’s emotional, social, and academic development.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing personalised support within the classroom and during activities
Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and professionals
About You:
We’re looking for someone who is:
Patient, caring, and calm under pressure
Experienced in supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism or SEMH
Able to adapt support strategies to meet different needs
Confident in building positive, trusting relationships
A team player with great communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
