The designated person will be responsible for Administration and Clerical (A&C) staff management and development, overseeing multiple teams across Tameside & Glossop community localities to ensure a high‑quality, efficient administrative service. The post holder will be customer‑focused and provide a professional frontline service to all service users, while managing facilities support, site security and maintenance.
Responsibilities
* Lead line management of two Clinic Administrators and 15 Clerical Officers.
* Coordinate administration functions and ensure smooth operation of services at community sites.
* Report maintenance issues via the correct channels and provide facilities management support.
* Perform clerical tasks: spreadsheets, word processing, email communication, photocopying, basic keyboard skills and data retrieval using Child Health systems.
* Book patient appointments using the EMIS patient data system.
* Support recruitment and selection of administration staff in accordance with Trust procedures.
* Authorise annual leave, manage sickness/absence and coordinate staffing rosters.
* Provide coaching, guidance and support to staff, including training and onboarding.
* Ensure compliance with Data Protection Act, Patient Confidentiality, Risk Management and Health and Safety procedures.
* Maintain service continuity during absences and be flexible to work from any community base across Tameside & Glossop.
* Use a personal vehicle and hold a valid driving licence.
