SEND Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Year 6)

£90 – £100 per day (depending on experience, paid weekly)
Teaching Personnel are seeking a resilient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 6 pupil in a primary school in Stockton-on-Tees.
This is a challenging but rewarding role, supporting a pupil with additional needs who requires consistent, structured support throughout the school day. The pupil has a strong interest in sport, so a background in sports, coaching, or physical activity would be highly beneficial as a tool for engagement, motivation, and positive relationship building.
About the Role
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with SEND
* Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
* Use sport and physical activity as an engagement and reward tool
* Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support plans
* Promote independence, confidence, and social development
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Be patient, calm, and resilient under pressure
* Have experience working with children with SEND (desirable)
* Have a sports background (coaching, PE, youth work, sports degree, etc.) – highly beneficial
* Be confident managing challenging behaviour in a consistent and supportive manner
* Be committed to making a lasting difference in a child’s school experience
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous; however, relevant experience and the right personality are more important.
