Global MIS Manager Location: Harewood, North Yorkshire, England (UK) — hybrid (in-office and remote). Regular on-site presence is expected. Office location is planned to move to Leeds in the first half of 2026. Periodic travel to the US office will be required. Department: Management Information Systems (MIS) Reports To: Senior VP, Business Delivery (with an expected transition to a new Shared Services leader planned to be hired within the next ~6 months) Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Level: Manager (hands-on technical leadership) About Us Assured Data Protection is a global leader in data backup and disaster recovery managed services, specialising in safeguarding against data loss and downtime in the event of a disaster, cyber, or ransomware attack. Our fully managed services include immutable backup, disaster recovery, and cyber resiliency to protect data on-premises and in the cloud, with 24/7/365 expert support. We offer a flexible, consumption-based model to grow with your business, making data protection cost-effective and scalable. Our purpose-built software provides industry-leading monitoring and reporting capabilities to provide actionable insights into your data protection strategy. Our global data centers ensure data sovereignty, meeting your organisation’s compliance requirements. A dedicated team is always available to recover your data and minimise disruption in the event of a disaster. Role Overview Assured continues to scale, and our MIS function has been expanding to support growing teams, new requirements, and increased operational and compliance needs. While we are not an enterprise by headcount, our customer expectations and compliance requirements demand enterprise-grade security controls and operational discipline. We are seeking a Global MIS Manager to lead this next phase of growth and deliver secure, reliable, and scalable workplace technology services for 300 users globally —with expectation of continued growth. MIS is responsible for the day-to-day technology experience for employees and contractors, including laptop support, identity and access administration, endpoint management, and the operational management of key user applications. This role owns the MIS Zendesk queue used to track MIS work and internal user requests, ensuring consistent triage, prioritisation, and stakeholder communications. This role will set the operating model for the team, establish clear ownership boundaries, and drive measurable improvements through standards, automation, and strong documentation. This role will be accountable for the health and security of our core workplace platforms— Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, and our endpoint/device management stack ( Intune including Company Portal, Apple Business Manager, NinjaOne )—operating them with an enterprise, policy-first approach. This role will ensure strong RBAC and least-privilege controls, consistent enforcement of device compliance baselines, and audit-ready operational practices. This is a hands-on technical manager role: This role will lead and develop the team while also partnering directly with InfoSec and Compliance on larger security programmes, security incidents, and audit activities. This role will own licensing for MIS-managed services and devices, plan the MIS budget, and shape the MIS roadmap as the business continues to scale. This role requires at least 3-5 years of prior management responsibility with demonstrated experience in operational efficiencies and budget management. Key Responsibilities MIS Operations & Zendesk Queue Management Establish a consistent global operating cadence across regions (handover standards, coverage model, escalation paths, and documentation quality gates). Design, implement, and continuously improve an on-call rotation to support business operations that run 24/7/365, including escalation paths, coverage expectations, process, and post-incident follow-up. Own the MIS Zendesk queue used to track and manage MIS work and internal user support: triage, prioritisation, escalations, stakeholder communications, and continuous improvement. Partner with HR and the Assets team to improve joiner/mover/leaver processes, including onboarding and offboarding workflows, equipment logistics, and access readiness. Define and mature operational workflows for the MIS queue (incident/request handling, problem follow-up, and change coordination) appropriate to the organisation. Drive consistent documentation: standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base content to improve resolution quality and reduce repeat issues. Use Thrive as a central location for internal documentation and onboarding/training materials; partner with the Training team to improve documentation quality, identify training gaps, and design/refresh training sessions for topics owned by MIS. Produce operational reporting and insights (volumes, backlog, root causes, automation opportunities) and use data to prioritise improvements. Create and deliver monthly Senior Leadership Team (SLT) reporting on MIS operations, service performance, key risks, and improvement initiatives. Oversee MIS use of Jira and Confluence for work tracking, delivery coordination, and knowledge management. Laptop Support, MDM & Endpoint Management Support and manage meeting room and conferencing technology, including Neat Bar conferencing systems, ensuring reliable operation, standard configuration, and timely issue resolution. Own laptop and end-user device support and lifecycle management (provisioning, onboarding/offboarding, repairs, refresh cycles, secure decommissioning) for Windows and macOS. Administer and mature endpoint and device management using Microsoft Intune (including Company Portal ), Apple Business Manager, and NinjaOne : device configuration, compliance policies, application deployment and self-service, patching workflows, and baseline hardening. Ensure endpoint security fundamentals are consistently enforced (patching posture, encryption, secure remote support, removal of unnecessary local admin access) and that Sophos MDR is deployed and operating effectively across managed laptops. Microsoft 365 & Entra (Identity and Access) Administer and continuously improve Microsoft 365 services (including Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive as applicable) with strong operational discipline. Lead administration of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD): joiner/mover/leaver processes, group and role management, authentication methods, conditional access, and access reviews. Manage enterprise applications (Entra Enterprise Apps) and application access models, including periodic review of necessity, renewals where applicable, and governance of new application requests—ensuring requests are assessed rather than rubber-stamped and engaging InfoSec/Compliance and other stakeholders as needed. Operate identity governance with a strong RBAC and least-privilege mindset, ensuring privileged access is tightly controlled and auditable. Support SSO adoption and identity integrations across business applications where appropriate. User Applications & SaaS Application Management Implement and run an application intake and review process in partnership with InfoSec, Compliance, and Finance (security/compliance assessment, cost/licensing, supportability, stakeholder alignment, and renewal planning) to ensure requests are assessed rather than rubber-stamped. Maintain an authoritative application inventory and proactively identify duplication of tools, driving consolidation where appropriate to reduce cost and operational overhead. Own operational administration of core user applications and SaaS tools and ensure stable service, effective onboarding, access governance, and licensing optimisation. Key platforms in scope include (but are not limited to): Slack, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Atlassian (Jira/Confluence), Zendesk, HubSpot, Gong, Zoom, and Thrive, alongside other team-specific internal applications. Maintain an application inventory and ownership model (business owner, technical owner, data classification, renewal dates, access model), and ensure the MIS team’s scope is clear versus other support teams. Partner with stakeholders to evaluate, implement, and standardise applications, ensuring security and operational requirements are met, and that application ownership and support boundaries are documented. Security, Policy & Compliance (Operational Ownership) Proactively review the workplace technology environment to identify gaps in security controls and tooling; make recommendations and drive delivery through to remediation (in partnership with InfoSec/Compliance as appropriate). Ensure MIS services are operated in line with enterprise security expectations and policies (identity, endpoint configuration, access control, and SaaS governance). Work closely with InfoSec on larger security programmes and initiatives affecting workplace technology (e.g., MFA and conditional access, device compliance baselines, hardening standards). Support security incident response activities relevant to MIS-managed platforms (triage, containment support, evidence gathering, remediation coordination). Partner with the Compliance team to support annual audits and evidence requests relating to MIS-managed controls and systems. Maintain evidence-quality records and operational auditability across MIS-managed platforms. Vendor & Stakeholder Management Accountable for governance decisions and risk-based prioritisation across MIS-managed platforms, partnering with internal stakeholders across teams to align requirements, supportability, and security controls. Manage vendor relationships for MIS-managed services and tooling: renewals, escalations, and service level expectations. Own the annual MIS team budget planning process (forecasting, renewals, licensing, and planned initiatives), and track spend against plan. Own licensing for MIS-managed services and devices; partner with the Assets team for hardware purchasing and lifecycle. Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritise work, and deliver improvements that support business operations. Drive roadmap planning for MIS tooling and services, balancing user experience, operational efficiency, and security. Regularly assess MIS tooling and controls to identify gaps and propose fixes, improvements, or replacement/new tools where needed (with clear business case, risk reduction, and operational impact). Qualifications Experience Demonstrable experience managing a global, geographically distributed IT/MIS team across multiple regions/time zones, with clear operating cadence and consistent standards. Demonstrable experience owning and enforcing enterprise policies and standards across identity, endpoints, and SaaS governance (not just day-to-day administration). Demonstrable experience leading audit evidence collection and ongoing control operation for workplace platforms in regulated/compliance environments. Proven experience producing senior leadership reporting and managing prioritisation trade-offs based on risk, impact, and business need. Proven experience of prior management responsibility Technical Skills Proven ability to design and enforce least privilege / RBAC, Conditional Access strategy, privileged role governance, and access review processes, with measurable outcomes. Experience with SSO/SAML integrations, application provisioning, and access models across SaaS applications. Experience implementing endpoint security controls and hardening standards in an enterprise environment (e.g., EDR/MDR operations, baseline configuration, compliance enforcement). Strong hands-on administration experience with: Microsoft 365 Microsoft Entra ID (identity and access management) Microsoft Intune, Apple Business Manager, and NinjaOne (Or equivalent management tool) Endpoint security experience including operational ownership of controls and tooling Strong RBAC/least-privilege mindset, including MFA, conditional access, role governance, and access reviews. Experience supporting Windows and macOS fleets. Understanding of device security expectations for a largely BYOD mobile environment, with limited company-issued phones. Experience supporting contractor environments using Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or similar. Core Skills Budgeting and financial planning: forecasting, renewals, licensing optimisation, and tracking spend against plan. Demonstrated ability to set expectations, delegate effectively, and hold teams accountable through metrics, follow-through, and corrective action when needed. Comfortable making and documenting decisions under ambiguity (exceptions, risk acceptance, compensating controls), with clear stakeholder communication. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Zendesk (preferred). Experience with Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) (preferred). ITIL Foundation (or equivalent practical ITSM experience). Experience supporting compliance/audit activities and evidence collection. Working with Compliance & InfoSec This role partners closely with the Compliance and InfoSec functions to support audits, evidence collection, and ongoing control operation. This role will contribute to larger security initiatives and support security incident response activities as they relate to MIS-managed platforms and services. Assured maintains compliance with SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and ISO 9001, and continues to expand its compliance and assurance programme over time as customer and regulatory needs evolve.
