The Civils Design PM is responsible for the successful delivery of the civil design stage of the project. Responsible for managing and updating the civil design project programme with the assistance of our project programmer. The Civils Design Project Manager will have both technical competencies and practical experience delivering the relevant types of work on sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Direct the design team in terms of both the design programme and conflict resolution where individual design packages may impact on other designs.
2. Identify design interfaces and risk assess these interfaces, understanding commercial, practical, and operational impacts.
3. Coordinate and chair internal (Project Team) design reviews and Client Expert and Operational Team Reviews, collating views and driving outcomes.
4. Review design buildability and costs.
5. Support the construction team to develop and implement suitable temporary works solutions.
6. Manage the delivery of design projects within a BIM environment.
7. Ensure project deliverables are agreed with the Client, including asset information, models, MEICA Specifications, and all Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
8. Review the suitability of proposed solutions based on client requirements and site constraints.
9. Review design submissions before issuing to the client and respond to client comments promptly.
10. Conduct site asset surveys during scoping and commissioning/handover stages.
11. Lead in reviewing civil design, specifications, equipment orders, and schedules.
12. Liaise with operations and maintenance staff during initial scope and upgrade works.
13. Engage stakeholders throughout design and commissioning stages.
14. Attend design, progress, tender handover, and pre-start meetings.
15. Manage risk and performance through effective commercial engagement.

Skills & Knowledge:
* Commercial awareness (NEC3,4 & JCT)
* Knowledge of CDM regulations and HAZOP requirements
* Understanding of construction techniques and compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation
* Experience reviewing and approving design consultant applications for payment
* Stakeholder engagement for timely management of design aspects
* Adherence to current industry standards and the project's strategic drivers
Minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience within the wastewater industry.
