<div><p>HR & Health & Safety Manager</p><p>Norfolk | Competitive Salary + Benefits | Senior Leadership Opportunity</p><p>At Cooper Lomaz, were working with a well-established and growing business within the Supply Chain & Distribution Sector who are looking to appoint an experienced HR & Health & Safety Manager to join their senior leadership team.</p><p>This is a hands‑on, operational role where no two days are the same. Youll play a key role in driving people management, compliance, training, health & safety, and operational standards across the business.</p><p>The successful candidate will be a confident leader with strong HR experience, a proactive approach to Health & Safety, and the ability to influence and support teams at all levels.</p><h3>The Role</h3><p>Reporting directly to the Directors, you will take ownership of the day-to‑day HR and Health & Safety function across the business, ensuring operational teams are supported, compliant, trained, and motivated.</p><ul><li>Managing operational staff across recruitment, onboarding, training and retention</li><li>Conducting disciplinary investigations and ensuring company procedures are followed correctly</li><li>Delivering probation reviews and supporting employee development plans</li><li>Identifying training needs and designing ongoing training programmes</li><li>Managing incidents and accidents in line with company policy and legislation</li><li>Monitoring timesheets, holidays and payroll‑related administration</li><li>Ensuring compliance with company policies, driver handbooks and Health & Safety procedures</li><li>Supporting transport compliance across the wider business</li><li>Managing company uniform and equipment stock levels</li></ul><h3>Health & Safety Responsibilities</h3><p>You will also take the lead on promoting and embedding a strong Health & Safety culture throughout the business. Responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Implementing and maintaining Health & Safety, Fire Safety and First Aid procedures</li><li>Ensuring risk assessments are current, visible and signed by employees</li><li>Promoting best practice and legislative compliance across all operational areas</li><li>Supporting management teams with ownership of Health & Safety processes</li><li>Reviewing operational activities from a Health & Safety perspective and identifying improvements
</li><li>Ensuring the business meets its duty of care obligations at all times</li></ul><h3>Additional Responsibilities</h3><p>As part of the senior management team, you will also support the wider day‑to‑day running of the business and contribute towards future growth initiatives, including:</p><ul><li>Supporting operational leadership across the organisation</li><li>Designing, marketing and delivering external training services</li><li>Helping to grow and expand the training side of the business</li></ul><h3>What Were Looking For</h3><p>Were keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:</p><ul><li>Previous experience in an HR, Operations or Health & Safety management role</li><li>Strong people management and leadership skills</li><li>Experience managing disciplinary processes and employee relations matters</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities</li><li>Knowledge of current legislation within transport, logistics or operational environments</li><li>Experience delivering training programmes and inductions</li><li>A proactive, hands‑on and solutions‑focused approach</li></ul><h3>Desirable Experience</h3><ul><li>Previous line management or supervisory experience</li><li>Experience working within transport, logistics or operational businesses</li><li>Experience designing and delivering driver induction or training programmes</li><li>At least 2 years experience within a similar managerial role</li></ul><h3>Why Apply?</h3><p>This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business in a highly visible leadership role where you can genuinely make an impact.
