New Directions Education is working in partnership with a small, friendly primary school in Bootle to recruit a Trainee Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to begin a career in education. No previous school experience is required, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.

The Role:
6. Support pupils in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher
7. Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and engagement
8. Assist with classroom preparation and daily routines
9. Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
10. Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
11. Learn and develop skills through on-the-job training and mentoring
The Ideal Candidate:
12. A genuine interest in working with children and supporting their development
13. Experience in care, social care, coaching, youth work, or similar roles is highly valued
14. Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic approach
15. Willingness to learn and take guidance from experienced staff
16. Strong communication and teamwork skills
17. Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
18. Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check and provide references covering the last 5 years
