We’re looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our Swindon team and play a key role in our returns process. Role Overview This role is a key role in the successful execution of our returns process. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role focused on accurately receiving, inspecting, classifying, and preparing returned products for resale. Working as part of the Swindon warehouse team, you’ll follow clear procedures to ensure every item is processed within our 48-hour turnaround target. You’ll contribute to the smooth and efficient flow of goods through the returns area, helping maintain quality standards and stock accuracy. Your work directly supports customer satisfaction and the business’s ability to resell returned products quickly and effectively. Key Responsibilities Returns Intake & Inspection Receive and inspect returned goods, verifying quantities and checking for any damage or discrepancies. Ensure all items are accurately logged and processed within the 48-hour turnaround target. Product Classification & Labelling Classify returned products based on condition, and label them correctly as Return to Manufacturer (RTM), Good Stock or Scrap. Ensure all items are correctly documented and routed for the next stage of processing. Cleaning & Resale Preparation Clean and prepare resaleable products to meet quality and presentation standards. Ensure all resale-ready items are boxed, labelled, and returned to stock locations efficiently. Accurate Stock Handling & Storage Allocate all items to the appropriate storage areas in line with inventory procedures. Maintain an organised and accessible warehouse layout for easy stock retrieval. Picking, Packing & Dispatch Support Pick and pack customer orders accurately and efficiently. Assist in the prompt dispatch of spare parts in coordination with the Customer Experience team. Stock Control & Cycle Counting Conduct regular stock counts and cycle checks to maintain inventory accuracy. Investigate and report any discrepancies or stock variances. Equipment Use & Goods Handling Safely load and unload deliveries, using proper manual handling techniques and equipment. Follow all health and safety procedures during handling tasks. Warehouse Cleanliness & Organisation Maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free workspace. Ensure all stock and materials are stored securely and logically within the warehouse. Team Collaboration & Communication Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations. Contribute ideas for improving warehouse workflows and solving operational challenges. Health & Safety Compliance Follow all health and safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment. Report hazards and follow safety protocols at all times. Flexible Operational Support Be willing to support wider business needs when required, including travel to other sites, participation in photoshoots, or helping with broader company projects. Skills & Experience Required Previous warehouse, logistics, or returns processing experience is beneficial but not essential. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately. Comfortable with manual handling and working in a physically active role. Team player with a proactive and positive attitude. Basic computer or scanner literacy is advantageous. Flexible and willing to support business needs outside of core warehouse duties when required. Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
