We are currently recruiting for a number of roles which would really suit people with a strong technical background and experience of working with local authorities or the wider public sector, who want to influence national policy, support finance professionals and help shape the future of good governance and financial management with public sector organisations.
The roles vary but some of the key responsibilities will involve
* Working with external stakeholders, including Government departments, technical forums, working groups and external policy and advisory boards to influence public policy
* Researching, planning and delivering a high-quality programme of events, briefings, webinars, and workshops to deliver practical guidance and up-to-date advice on professional and technical matters
* Researching and developing financial reporting rules and guidance to support standard-setting activities
* Preparing technical papers, and writing consultation documents
* Working collaboratively with colleagues to respond to consultations on professional standards, Government policy and other recommended practices.
To be suitable for the role you will need to be a qualified accountant with strong technical skills, ideally in local authorities or the wider public sector. The ability to explain complex financial information in an easy-to-understand way is essential. Experience of delivering training or interpreting national policy is highly desirable.
For one of the roles, we would be very keen to speak to candidates who have exposure to supporting the Collection Fund.
The organisation offers a 4 day working week at full pay and operates a hybrid working environment.
