Senior CT Radiographer (Band 6)
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic specialist to join our imaging team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) in Brighton.
The role will be based in our new purpose‑designed department as part of the 3Ts Development, providing high‑standard patient care and imaging outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Rotate through outpatient, inpatient and emergency departments, performing CT imaging on 5 scanners and supporting future expansion to 6 scanners.
* Operate a 7‑day extended day and out‑of‑hours (OOH) rota, delivering a 24‑hour emergency service.
* Provide orientation and support for plain film, theatres, mobiles and RACH to ensure seamless service provision.
* Undertake a wide range of clinical duties to deliver high‑quality imaging and assist in diagnosis and treatment.
* Ensure departmental adherence to Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R) 2017, Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR) 2017 and Trust policies, protocols and guidelines.
* Actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team, supervising newly qualified and junior staff, assistant practitioners and student radiographers.
* Support the Superintendent Radiographers to ensure smooth day‑to‑day running of the CT departments.
* Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development (CPD).
* Participate in extended working day, weekend and night rotas as required.
Qualifications
* Qualified radiographer with clinical experience in CT imaging.
* Band 6 rating or comparable experience.
* Experience of supervising junior staff and working in multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong knowledge of ionising radiation safety regulations and clinical governance.
* Commitment to delivering patient‑focused care and clinical excellence.
