Senior Radiotherapy Physicist (Band 7)
We are looking to recruit a permanent band 7 scientist to join our team in a modern and excellently equipped department. You will ideally already be HCPC registered as a clinical scientist, but applications from trainees near qualification are also welcome. If not yet registered, an appointment to a lower band may be considered until registration is achieved.
Responsibilities
* Full range of radiotherapy physicist duties, including treatment planning, plan checking, brachytherapy, equipment commissioning and QA, training staff, and advising clinicians.
* Developing new techniques and collaborative research projects with the University.
Qualifications
* HCPC registration as a clinical scientist (or trainee nearing qualification).
* Band 7 experience or relevant experience at a lower band with potential for promotion upon registration.
Facilities and Equipment
* OUH Radiotherapy Centre – five linac all‑Varian (Halcyon, TrueBeam) site with CT‑sim, ARIA, Eclipse, and HDR brachytherapy unit.
* Swindon satellite centre – two linacs and a CT‑sim.
* Milton Keynes satellite centre – a single linac and CT‑sim (opened 2025).
* Supporting systems: AI auto‑contouring, RadCalc, RapidPlan, MCO, HyperArc, Velocity.
* Treatment techniques: SRS/SRT and SABR.
