About Oasis
Oasis is a community space in the heart of Cardiff, which gives a warm Welsh welcome to around 2500 people seeking sanctuary (asylum seekers and refugees) per year across South Wales. We empower them to reach their aspirations for themselves and their families by providing;

* educational and professional career progression
* community integration activities to build relationships in Oasis and
* their local communities
* opportunities to influence the services and systems that impact their lives
About the project
We have received funding from the Welsh Government aiming to reduce child poverty by increasing the availability of free childcare and play opportunities to enable parents to study and work.
The purpose of the project is to:
Map the existing provision of childcare and play opportunities suitable for asylum seekers and refugees, focused on those settings where parents candrop off their children
* Speak to CIC & charity childcare and play providers across the area (Splott, Tremorfa, Adamsdown and Roath) to explore how they might increase the free childcare and play offers available and explore mechanisms for how these can be accessed fairly
* Produce clear multi-lingual information about how and where parents can access free childcare and other free play and childcare opportunities
* Pilot free play provision in new locations to explore what works for parents
* Agree terms of reference as a new network to build more free childcare and play opportunities into the future
Responsibilities:
* Coordinate a 6-month Welsh Government funded project
* Deliver the project purposes and outcomes with partners
* Manage the project on time and within budget
* Collect data for the funder and write the final report
* Set up a steering group for the project made up of parents who are seeking sanctuary
* Work with colleagues to identify follow up funding

* Can chair meetings and discussion sessions in an inclusive way
* Excellent at building and maintaining relationships with funders, partners, colleagues and clients
