We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated member of staff to join our practice team. You must be accurate, have good communication skills, be a team player, and the ability to work flexibly in the absence of colleagues.

Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the post-holder will be to summarise and code relevant information into the Practice computer system, working strictly in accordance with the Practice notes summarising protocol and letter management protocol.

Job responsibilities
Coding
 * To receive correspondence into the practice via e-mail, post and electronically.
 * To scan hospital/clinic letters, results, investigations and reports into the clinical record (SystmOne).
 * To code clinical information in line with the practice letter management policy.
 * To maintain the computer clinical system in an accurate and secure manner.
 * To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.
Summarising
 * Accept and return patients notes to Primary Care Support England (PCSE)
 * Cull and sort paper Lloyd George records and letters in preparation for summarising
 * Review paper and electronic medical records and code the information into the Practice clinical system (SystmOne)
 * Auditing data collection standards in the Practice
 * Monitoring progress of notes summarising against Practice targets
 * Monitor workflow manager
 * General administration within the department as required and directed by the Team Leader
 * Administrative support to the practice to help it achieve its targets and requirements

 * Flexibility to work outside of core office hours
Qualifications
 * A good standard of education with and expectation of having both GCSE Maths and English at Grade C (Level 4) or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English
 * Intermediate learning in Medical Terminology
Experience
 * Experience of working with the general public
 * Experience of working in a healthcare setting
 * Experience of administrative duties
