Overall purpose of the role.
To manage the costs on construction projects and ensure that the construction project is completed within its projected budget and as economically as possible as a sub-.
➢Primary responsibility is to carry out their duties in such a way that there are no risks to the health and safety of anyone on-site or off-site.
➢To prepare and or review, Tender Documents, Contracts and Sub-Contracts, Appointment and Sub-Appointment documents, Bills of Quantities, other Contract and Sub-Contract documentation
➢To price and forecast the project costs and report periodically in writing, on the financial status of the individual projects including cash flow forecasting
➢To track changes to the design and or construction work and recoup income from the client along with managing (adjusting) the project costs and sub-contractors
➢To procure the services of Sub-Contractors and Professionals
➢To measure and value the Works done on-site / factory / Design for the; calculation of the external application for payment from the Client, and to compute the recommendation for payment for the Sub-Contractors and Professionals applications for payment, and for the computation of the cost to complete for the project.
➢Liaise with the Client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers, engineers, designers
➢Ensuring the company on-site processes are carried out
➢Reporting and documenting of all sites-based processes and events
Key relationships and skills
The Quantity Surveyor role is as much about managing relationships as it is about managing numbers
➢The post holder will report to the Commercial Manager
➢The role involves building relationships with all professionals, Architects, Engineers, Project Managers, Site Managers, Factory Managers, Sub-Contractors & Suppliers.
➢Working collaboratively with Managers and staff in other departments.
Required Skills
➢ Degree in Quantity surveying
➢ 2+ Years time served
➢Numeracy and Literacy
➢Excellent knowledge of Contractual law (JCT & NEC3)
➢Good working knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
➢Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills

Area of Key Responsibility
➢The overall responsibility for the financial performance of the Construction Project
➢Ensuring that applications for payment are made timeously.
➢Ensuring that the sub-contractors' applications are processed timeously.
➢Ensure variations are priced, captured, and actioned
➢Evaluate contract and sub-contract conditions of contract
➢Procure the services and sub-contract works for the construction project.
➢Managed procurement requirements for the projects.
➢Manage several projects simultaneously.
➢Updated cost forecasting weekly.
Roles & Responsibilities: Pre-Contract
➢Review, comment and negotiate favourable Contract a Sub-Contract conditions
➢Analyse the Budget and compile into the Construction Phase Interim Valuation format
➢Compile Tenders for the Services and sub-contract works for the project
➢Manage Budgets with the supply chain.
Contract Phase
➢Attendance to site,
➢In conjunction with the Operations / Project manager select the sub-contractors and professionals and manage their WIP.
➢Attendance to client meetings as required.
➢Attended all live sites when required.
➢Internal Valuation submissions
➢Application submission via specialist software.
➢Manage all material and subcontract invoicing.
➢Project Cash flow submissions.

Pay: £30,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
