A Junior Fellow position in the Surgical Critical Care unit at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. The post focuses on the management of critical care patients in a high‑dependency setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Daily management of surgical high‑dependency and critical care patients.
* Attend ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings.
* Adjust organ support measures following induction and training.
* Maintain meticulous and comprehensive record‑keeping and clinical handovers.
* Participate in weekly teaching sessions and presentation opportunities.
* Engage in clinical research trials and audits currently underway.
Qualifications & Preferences
* Educational framework equivalent to training grade doctors.
* Previous experience in Intensive Care Medicine and/or Anaesthesia preferred.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including on weekends and nights.
Additional Information
Appointment will be made under local contractual terms for Trust‑appointed (non‑training fellow) doctors. CPD is supported and study leave available.
Grades for Trust‑appointed fellows are paid at the nodal pay point with basic salary plus additional remuneration for hours as per the Doctors’ Work Schedule.
