Job Role
As the Arboricultural Officer for Hounslow Highway, within the London Borough of Hounslow you will be focusing on the Public Highway Network. You will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and sustainability of our tree assets, contributing to the overall enhancement of our public spaces
Duties
* Manage and maintain the council's Tree Risk Management programme across highways, woodlands, and public spaces.
* Develop and implement arboricultural management plans, policies, and procedures, ensuring biodiversity and landscape conservation.
* Advise on tree management for the Highway Network to improve safety, accessibility, and sustainability.
* Maintain accurate records of tree assets, inspections, and maintenance using specialist inventory software.
* Carry out and review inspections, recommending appropriate management measures in line with national standards.
Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and ecological protection requirements.
* Prepare reports on tree condition and management for stakeholders.
* Engage with communities and stakeholders to promote responsible tree management.
* Commission and oversee tree works, ensuring quality, value for money, and adherence to industry standards.
Represent the service and provide technical arboricultural advice at meetings, consultations, and site inspections.
Person Specification
* Previous experience of working within a similar environment
* Arboricultural qualifications to a minimum of level 5 (HND/ FdSc)
* LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection qualifications

Hours: Full Time Monday to Friday
