Position Summary
Reporting to the Principal Piping Designer or Lead appointed as applicable, the Senior Piping Designer is responsible for carrying out Piping Design for the Company. This role plays an essential part of the success of the business by ensuring that the Company continues to drive innovation and deliver commercially viable products, to achieve the Companies objectives of growth and profitability.
Duties And Responsibilities
1. Skilled in preparing and checking design deliverables within the budget hours/Norms and schedule
2. Resolve technical queries and ensure Satisfactory
3. Competent in completing site surveys and interpret survey data/document in completion of design deliverables
4. Supervision of other discipline designers as determined by the Lead or Principal Designer
5. Competent in preparing design scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary.
6. Report on job progress.
7. Management of 3rd Party Suppliers in the execution of design delivery as required
8. Support preparation of pre-qualification responses, proposals, tenders and programmes for work for new and existing customers.
9. Participate in incident investigations as required
10. Comply with relevant codes of conduct
11. Ensure that all work complies with the Company and Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate
12. Report any incidents/near misses, hazards, unsafe acts/conditions, or positive behaviour to a responsible person immediately, and participate in incident investigations where required
13. Actively participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments, HSE audits, and other relevant meetings where required
14. Perform work responsibly, taking account of environmental, social and economic requirements
Qualifications
Highest Qualifications
15. HND or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline with sufficient post-qualification experience to be considered as possessing a good working knowledge
16. ECITB Modern Apprenticeship Scheme preferred
Lowest Qualifications
17. Holds an ONC or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline with sufficient post-qualification experience to be considered as possessing a strong working knowledge

Knowledge, Competencies, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
19. Good knowledge of Design Principles, offshore operations, maintenance layout and plant design, including but not limited to: piping systems, pressure ratings and applications, piping survey techniques, understanding and application of pipe stress software, understanding and application of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), other associated equipment with the Oil and Gas industry.
20. Competent and Knowledgeable of regulatory framework and legislation
21. Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and where appliable client codes and standards.
22. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk, ReCap
23. Ability to understand client requirements, define a scope of work through Concept/FEED/Detailed Design, and support fabrication and construction
24. Knowledgeable in constructability to support fabrication and construction
25. Foster positive and effective working relationships with Clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
26. Proficient in various applicable design software systems and Microsoft packages
27. Good interpersonal skills - Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
28. Sound time and resource management skills
29. Cognisant of business requirements and needs and adaptable to changing environment and business requirements
30. Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations
31. Able to travel in UK and abroad, as well as offshore
