Job Title: Site Engineer - Highways Works (Contract)
Location: Across Lincolnshire, mainly Skegness
Contract Type: Fixed-term contract
Start Date: End of February
Duration: 5-6 months (likely extension to June/July 2025)
Hours: Roughly 40-45 hours per week
Rate: £350-£400 per day (inside IR35)
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of highways works. You will play a key role in setting out, quality assurance, and day-to-day technical support across highways improvement and maintenance schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting out for highways works including drainage, kerbing, surfacing, and associated infrastructure
* Interpreting and working from technical drawings and specifications
* Ensuring works are delivered in line with design, programme, and quality standards
* Managing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built information
* Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and the client team
* Supporting health & safety compliance and site documentation
* Conducting site surveys and providing technical input to the delivery team
Requirements
* HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
* Valid CSCS card
* Proven experience working on highways projects
* Strong setting out and QA experience
* SMSTS or SSSTS advantageous
* Ability to work independently and as part of a delivery team
