With a large SAP S/4 HANA project landing next year, we are now getting future ready and looking for leaders who can support us moving forward.
Part of a small structure change within the teams, this newly created Head of Commercial Finance role will be responsible for ensuring that all our Functions continue to receive exemplary business partnering from a small but experienced team. Responsible for a team of 8 the Head of Commercial Finance will cover our three main business areas of: Co-Manufacturing, Retail, and Brands.
You’ll be fully qualified and will focus on 2 main workstrems: the day to day, which involves leading the planning and reporting cycles, delivering insights, and partner closely with senior leadership to drive strategic decisions.
You’ll take ownership of critical financial processes—from pricing and promotions to tendering and customer contracts—ensuring accuracy and value at every stage.
Secondly, you’ll have one eye on continuous improvement, leading a talented team, driving the adoption of new technologies like SAP S/4 HANA, and embed best practices across the business.
This is a high-impact role at the heart of Refresco’s Commercial Finance function.

Overview of the role
This role leads the Commercial Controlling team – trusted partners to our Private Label, Brands, and Contract Manufacturing teams. As Head of Commercial Finance, you'll drive performance through insight, challenge, and robust analysis of new and existing business. You'll ensure accurate accounts, budgets, and forecasts, while identifying key profitability drivers. A strong team leader, you’ll develop talent and role model Refresco’s values.
Key responsibilities of the Head of Commercial Finance:
* Lead Commercial planning and reporting cycles (3YP, Budget, Forecast).
* Deliver cross-channel insights to support strategic decision-making.
* Partner with the Commercial Director to drive performance and improvements.
* Own financial processes for rebates, promotions, tendering, and customer pricing.
* Ensure accurate customer invoicing and support contract financials.
* Champion commercial input into capex, claims, and contract schedules.
* Lead, develop, and continuously improve the Commercial Finance team.
* Drive adoption of new technologies, including SAP S/4 HANA, to enhance reporting and analysis.
* Promote best practices and lead profitability and portfolio analysis across the business.
About you
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) with extensive experience in fast-paced, high-volume sectors such as food, beverage, FMCG, or manufacturing.
They will have a strong foundation in financial planning and analysis, with proven expertise in ERP systems and handling complex data. A track record of delivering strategic insight and commercial guidance to senior stakeholders is essential.
Strong leadership skills, with experience in developing high-performing teams within FP&A, business partnering, or management accounting, are key, along with advanced IT literacy and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
