 
        
        We are a 2 Partner GP practice looking for a friendly and reliable medicalreceptionist to join our small, friendly team. This is a 6-month fixed term positionbut there may be a possibility that there will be the opportunity for this tobecome a more permanent position.
As the first point of contact within the surgerythis role is integral to our approach to patient care, greeting and supportingpatients and their carers both face to face and on the telephone. It alsoincludes administration duties.
We would like you to work 25 hours a week (plus cover for any holidays orsickness), ranging between 8am up until 7pm. We are an EMIS practice and useother platforms docman10x and accurx.
Experience in working in a GP surgery is preferred; however training willbe available for the right candidate.
Experience of working with the public (preferably in a busy receptionenvironment), be reliable, have good customer service & computer skills isrequired.
The role would suit someone with a friendly and approachable demeanour,ability to problem-solve and willingness to help/support both patients andcolleagues.
Main duties of the job
a.Maintainingand monitoring the practice appointment system
b.Processpersonal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c.Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately
d.Signpostpatients to the correct service
e.Ensuringrequests for repeat medications are processed accurately and efficiently
f.Initiatingcontact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members andexternal agencies
g.Processincoming and outgoing mail
h.Photocopydocumentation as required
i.Fileand store records as required
j.Dataentry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information asrequired
k.Inputdata into the patients healthcare records as necessary
l.Scanningof patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patientshealthcare records
m.Processall DNA letters in accordance with current policy
n.Directrequests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLAforms to the administrative team
o.Manageall queries as necessary in an efficient manner
p.Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
q.Monitorand maintain the reception area and notice boards
r.Supportall clinical staff with general tasks as requested

Job responsibilities
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
