Role: Building Surveyor – London – (JPC-90)Location: LondonSector: Public & Private Sector ConsultancySalary: Upto £50,000 DoEOverviewWe are seeking a Building Surveyor to join a well-established consultancy delivering a varied portfolio of residential, public sector, mixed-use and regeneration projects across London and the South East.This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of remediation and new-build residential schemes, working with a high degree of autonomy while supporting both pre- and post-contract project delivery and client liaison.Key ResponsibilitiesBuilding Surveys & Technical ReportingUndertake detailed building inspections across residential and public-sector assetsPrepare building pathology reports, defect diagnosis and technical assessmentsReview drawings, prepare audit checklists and maintain accurate project documentationPre-Contract DutiesOrganise and manage investigations, surveys and due diligencePrepare and assist with tender documentation, including Employer’s Requirements and specificationsSupport procurement using JCT Design & Build and JCT PCSA contractsAssist with value-for-money assessmentsAttend and minute pre-contract meetingsPost-Contract DutiesRun remediation and new-build residential projects with increasing autonomyCarry out regular site inspections and progress monitoringIssue instructions, certificates and noticesLiaise with contractors and consultants to support programme and cashflow managementUndertake snagging, de-snagging and assist with handover processesMaintain risk registers and contribute to project programmesClient & Stakeholder LiaisonWork directly with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, Developers and public-sector clientsProvide clear, timely updates and professional adviceBuild and maintain strong client relationshipsExperience & QualificationsDegree in Building Surveying or a related disciplineTypically 2–5 years’ Building Surveying experienceStrong understanding of building pathology, Building Regulations and JCT contractsExperience working on residential, remediation, refurbishment or regeneration projectsAbility to manage projects independently and prioritise workload effectivelyFull UK driving licenceRewards and Benefits:Competitive salaryDiscretionary bonus incentivePension contributionsPrivate medical insurance28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)3–4 days off over Christmas (subject to director discretion)1 day off for your birthdaySalary:Upto £50,000 DoE per annum
