Maintenance Engineer - (Industrial Wastewater Treatment Projects)

Main Purpose
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for operating, monitoring and maintenance of the assets associated with our operational sites involving water and effluent treatment. The role requires that the assets are operated at optimum performance at all times. The engineer will carry out Planned Maintenance tasks, respond to reactive unplanned maintenance tasks, work on the installation of maintenance projects, check process performance using SCADA, maintain analytical data in a plant maintenance system, assist in developing the planned maintenance system, and supervise sub‑contractors.
Responsibilities
1. Work within the client and AOL HSE systems.
2. Visible ownership on HSE issues at all levels.
3. Understand the multi-skilled (EMI) maintenance function to complete basic/complex tasks unsupervised.
4. Complete purchase requisitions and track costs.
5. Develop good team working behaviours with the client and other AOL staff.
6. Undergo training as required.
7. Identify training needs to Manager.
8. Identify faults, evaluate rectification measures and make initial recommendations.
9. Gather system information and complete plant logs to understand operation and identify changes in performance.
10. Develop and maintain good housekeeping practices.
11. Establish and maintain professional relationships with customer personnel, AOL, and sub‑contractor staff.
12. Promptly raise any issues that could affect the client and AOL.
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous work experience in effluent/water treatment plants.
* Recognition as a Maintenance Fitter/Engineer.
* Experience working directly with sub‑contractors.
* Ability to interpret technical literature and engineering drawings for complex repairs.
* Computer literate and able to use Maintenance Management Systems.
Education & Training
* Recognised maintenance qualifications (e.g., NVQ).
