This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking business that sells wood based sheet materials, laminates, worktops and edgings to joinery manufacturers.
We are looking to recruit a full time machine operator at our hugely successful company based at our modern facility. We offer good rates of pay, on-going training and an attendance bonus scheme.
Duties:
* Programming/Set up and operate various wood machines.
* Carry out daily H&S checks and general maintenance on various wood machines.
* Handle materials appropriately and according to training guidelines to avoid damage to products.
* Ensure the finished goods are inspected regularly and in accordance with relevant procedures.
* Work within tight tolerances using measuring tools such as digital verniers, tape measures, rulers etc.
* Stack, wrap and band materials correctly on pallets prior to dispatch.
* Consistently follow health and safety rules when operating wood machinery and moving about the Shopfloor.
* Use personal protective equipment correctly according to guidance and training.
* Complete all job sheets for each job as required.
* General Health & safety awareness and compliance with all H&S policies and procedures.
* Ability to assist colleagues where necessary including assistance with lifting boards and cut panels.
* Undertake good housekeeping, tidying working areas.
Skills:
* Experience of operating edgebander machines and tooling.
* Good co-ordination skills, concentration levels and organisational skills are required.
* Speed, efficiency and the ability to work well under pressure.
* A good understanding of edging tapes, thicknesses and widths is essential
* Previous experience of operating an edgebander or slitting machine is essential

Shift pattern:
Monday to Friday 6am – 3pm (45 hours per week)
All shifts include a paid 1 hour break.
