To provide and maintain an efficient and high standard Health Records Service throughout the Trust. The post holder will work to maintain the Main Store and Archive area, ensuring the integrity and security of all health records.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who can demonstrate recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
Main duties of the job
Key Dimensions: The Central Records Library comprises three main areas:
1. Main Office/Pre-file and Archive
2. Main Office/Pre-file area
3. Archive area
Responsibilities include supporting the pulling and filing of Health Records within the Central Records Library for all clinical activity, prioritising workloads, and managing all other Central Record Requests. The post holder will handle the urgent line professionally.
In the Archive area, support includes filing and culling of REI records and Deceased records, as well as undertaking the retention and destruction of all Health Records and REI records in accordance with the Records Management Code of Practice 2021 and Trust policies.
The role involves reviewing storage capacity issues and identifying bottlenecks within the store, especially for yearly Deceased notes. Roles across the three areas are generic, allowing the post holder to be allocated to any area within the Central Records Library as needed, including staff rotation to ensure service continuity during absences.
