Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Temporary Site assistant to oversee the School's maintenance, opening up of school, safety, and operational functionality of our premises. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, leadership qualities, and a commitment to ensuring a secure and well-maintained environment. This role involves supervising maintenance activities, managing technical systems, and providing excellent customer service to staff and visitors alike. The Site assistant will play a vital part in maintaining the integrity of our facilities and supporting daily operations efficiently.
Duties
* Oversee the operation and maintenance of building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing components.
* Manage and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and interpret schematics for repairs or modifications.
* Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues with electrical wiring, mechanical equipment, or structural elements.
* Perform repairs involving welding, electrical work, or mechanical adjustments as required.
* Supervise maintenance staff or contractors, ensuring tasks are completed safely and to high standards.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all premises operations.
* Coordinate with external service providers for specialised repairs or upgrades.
* Lead safety drills and ensure emergency procedures are up-to-date and practised regularly.
* Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
Experience
* Proven experience in premises assistance within a similar environment.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical processes, and building maintenance practices.
* Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and reading schematics is highly desirable.
* Skilled in welding techniques and general mechanical repairs.
* Demonstrable electrical experience with a good understanding of wiring diagrams and schematics.
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience in managing maintenance teams or contractors.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
* Customer service experience is advantageous to ensure positive interactions with staff and visitors.
