About The Role

Please note this position is fixed term until 06 December 2025. EKC Group are going to be working in collaboration with BRIT Kids and have an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to undertake teaching within a specific section as part of the BRIT Kids Saturday morning classes programme at our Canterbury College.
BRIT Kids are fee paying performing, creative and media arts classes that run on Saturdays. BRIT kids is part of The BRIT School, a unique free school for the Performing and Creative arts.
We are looking for a Film teacher delivering 2 workshops of an hour each.
At BRIT Kids we ask teachers to be creative, contemporary and self-directed. We want teaching at BRIT Kids to be the highlight of your week. We believe that allowing teachers to devise and create your own class content, means that you have ownership over what you are delivering and therefore passion and knowledge to deliver at a high level.
You are asked to devise your own projects and write your own schemes of work, with support and guidance, when needed by the Director. The emphasis on contemporary, unique and challenging is important to us. You are encouraged to take risks and step out of your comfort zone.
The joy of teaching at BRIT Kids is that although we have high expectations, level descriptors and ask for schemes of work overviews, you are not confined by a curriculum.
You will be expected to write Schemes of Work overviews and run to the BRIT Kids ethos which celebrates creativity through challenging, bespoke and contemporary teaching.
About You
As a BRIT Kids teacher, here are your main responsibilities:
* To plan, prepare and deliver all classes yourself
* To monitor attendance and punctuality, keeping accurate and up to date registers.
* To prepare students for performances or exhibitions and open days.
* To attend team meetings as required.
* To attend to the health and safety and safeguarding of all children.
* To follow the BRIT Kids discipline procedure, keeping the Director informed of students with behavioural problems.
* To cater for AEN students
