What's involved with this role: Interim Social Worker - Locality Safeguarding Reference no: Barnsley TCL 0008 BEC1 / 1 Pay rate: £27.44 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 37 Monday to Friday, 08:45-17:00 This opening assignment is for 3-4 months City: BARNSLEY, South Yorkshire Hybrid working Enhanced DBS required for this role A Social Worker is required to work within the locality safeguarding team, supporting individuals and their families through difficult times and ensuring that vulnerable people are safeguarded from harm. The role is to help improve outcomes in people's lives and maintain professional relationships and act as guides and advocates. Once safeguarding concerns are screened they are forwarded to the locality safeguarding team for s42 to be completed. The successful candidate will need to be experienced in working with MSP and completing s42 enquiries. Experience: Experienced in working with MSP and completing s42 enquiries. Experience of working in a health and social work team / care setting e.g. elderly, learning disabilities, mental health and vulnerable people, including multi-agency settings. Experience of managing highly complex work situations. Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of Health and Social Care systems. Sound knowledge of evidence based social work models, approaches and interventions. Detailed understanding of Adults Safeguarding. Detailed understanding of key legislation and guidance underpinning work with adults. Skills & Abilities: Effective communication and analytical skills. Effective skills in persuasion. High level of organisational skills. Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite). Ability to practice in accordance with HCPC standards at all times. Able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement; constantly looking for better ways of doing things. Able to build rapport.
