Job Summary
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Consultant Haematologist to lead our non‑malignant haematology service and advance research and education across the Trust’s three hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead outpatient non‑malignant haematology clinics, tailoring patient care to individual interests and expertise.
* Provide medical cover for non‑malignant haematology inpatients and day‑case patients, sharing ward coverage alternately with colleagues.
* Deliver satellite clinics and participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Advance clinical, laboratory and research activities, including audit, management and continuing professional development.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Full registration with the General Medical Council and specialist registration with the Royal College of Pathology (FRCPath) or equivalent.
* Clinical experience in non‑malignant haematology, including haemostasis, thrombosis, haemoglobinopathies and general haematology.
* Experience in clinical audit, research governance and clinical trials (GCP certification).
* Proven teaching and supervision of trainees and junior staff.
* Strong management/leadership experience within clinical teams.
Desirable Attributes
* Higher degree (PhD or MD) in haematology or related fields.
* Formal accreditation in medical education.
* Experience in budget management and service improvement projects.
* Evidence of research output and publications in haematology.
Application Information
Contract: Permanent, Full‑time; Working Pattern: Part‑time (10 programmed activities). Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 per annum, pro rata. Reference number: 287‑RMED‑416‑25.
