We are seeking highly motivated and dynamic individuals to take up these posts, which are based at Whipps Cross University Hospital (post 1) and Whipps Cross Hospital and Newham University Hospital (Post 2).
These are full time posts within a busy Ophthalmic unit. The successful candidates will join an established and professional multi- disciplinary Ophthalmic team.
We would expect the successful post holders to take an active part in managing and developing the service, to ensure of the delivery of quality care, and to support an active training programme.
Main duties of the job
Whipps Cross Hospital is in the process of substantial redevelopment, which makes this an exciting time to join and help to influence the delivery of future Ophthalmic care.
This substantive consultant post will support the service needs of the Ophthalmology service. This will ensure the provision of a high-quality service, with the development and maintenance of standards through clinical audit, evidence-based research and appraisal.
The post is based at Whipps Cross University Hospital. There may be a requirement for clinical commitments at Newham University Hospital. There is a 1 in 10 second on-call commitment. The glaucoma team comprises; two glaucoma consultants, one glaucoma fellow and one optometrist.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. FRCOphth or equivalent
2. Glaucoma fellowship or ASTO
3. CCT or equivalent or within 6 months of a date or on GMC Specialist Register
Desirable criteria
4. Experience as a Consultant with sub-specialty interest in Glaucoma
