Admiral Money is hiring for a DevOps Engineer to join the team!
Admiral Money is an exciting division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small start up with the security of a large parent company, Admiral.
The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.
We are relaunching our car finance product later this year and are looking for someone who is keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.
The Role
You’ll be part of a talented, modern DevOps team working with the latest technologies and platforms including AWS, Terraform, GitLab, and Kubernetes - and always exploring more.
We work in a dynamic environment that prioritises automation, CI/CD, and cutting-edge technology to support our development teams. You’ll collaborate with colleagues to maintain, deploy, improve, and troubleshoot the systems that make up the Admiral Money infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and maintain automated build, deployment, and configuration management systems
* Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and efficient software delivery
* Monitor system performance metrics and implement data-driven optimisation strategies
* Collaborate with development teams to integrate deployment best practices and ensure product integrity throughout the release lifecycle
* Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, retrospectives, and product demonstrations
Requirements
Expertise in the following:
* Proven experience in a DevOps role within a production environment
* Proficiency with AWS services including VPC, S3, R53, EKS, Lambda, IAM, RDS, and Cognito
* Container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar tools in production deployments
Experience With
* AWS security best practices including IAM, security groups, encryption, and compliance frameworks
* Monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, or NewRelic
* Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
* Containerised CI/CD solutions
* Linux system administration, including shell scripting and system optimisation
Desirable Skills
* Experience with AWS services such as SQS, SNS, API Gateway, or data analytics platforms (e.g., Redshift, Glue)
* CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI
* Monitoring solutions using NewRelic
* Deployment management with Helm
