Growth Account Manager

Location: UK (Remote)

Employment Type and Hours: Employed, Full-time, 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday

Salary: £40-48K dependent on experience, plus commission-related bonus

Reports To: CEO and Growth Lead

Department: Growth Team

Job Overview

As the Growth Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in executing HRS’ growth strategy. You will be our feet on the ground, representing HRS at key industry events, conferences and networking opportunities to drive growth through proactive outreach and relationship building. You will develop new business opportunities, foster relationships with key stakeholders, and position HRS as a leader in nutrition communications. You will collaborate closely with our Growth Lead and Head of New Business Development to identify, pitch, and close high-value client relationships. This role is pivotal in building our presence, creating meaningful connections and securing new business from target categories. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business growth in a sales or advertising role.


Key Responsibilities


New Contact acquisition: identify and engage (e.g., via emails, LinkedIn, brand marketing campaigns, events etc.) with potential clients in target categories to secure meetings and introductions for HRS.


Client meetings: Working with the Growth Lead to confidently deliver HRS’ credentials to pitch services and opportunities to new prospective clients. Collaborate with internal teams, as needed, to develop compelling sales collateral.

Strategic Business Growth: Support the Growth Lead with the execution of a comprehensive business development strategy to grow HRS’ client base across key sectors, with a focus on long-term revenue generation and partnerships.


Client Proposals: Responsible for new business client proposals and costings on small-to-medium sized accounts, on an end-to-end basis up until the client signs / approves work with HRS, with final sign-off from Growth Lead.


Client Relationship Management: Cultivate relationships with senior decision-makers aligned to the HRS target categories and companies, regularly checking in and maintaining contact until we secure business or agree to remove from target list.


Market Intelligence & Industry Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activity within the nutrition, health, and wellness sectors. Use this intelligence to identify new opportunities for HRS and stay ahead of client needs.


New Business Acquisition: Conduct client due diligence through to receipt of brief, costing out work, delivering presentations/proposals, and negotiating contracts. Work with the Marketing Growth Specialist to develop, maintain, and target a list of target clients. Identify and scope out public sector and tender opportunities, as appropriate, and support with the application process as required.


Client Onboarding: Ensure new clients are onboarded seamlessly from an HR/admin/legal perspective and understand the full scope of services HRS provides.


New Job Handover: Work collaboratively with the client services team to “hand over” new clients, ensuring alignment between the proposal and the campaign’s execution.


Brand Advocacy: Ensure HRS is represented at key industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to raise our profile and connect with potential clients and partners, securing meetings and opportunities to pitch HRS services to potential clients. Act as an ambassador for HRS, ensuring our values and expertise are communicated effectively.


Experience required

· At least 3-5 years of experience in business development, growth and sales within communications, advertising, PR or marketing (nutrition/health sector preferred).

· A demonstrable history of developing and closing client deals, including strategic partnerships and long-term contracts.

· Media agency experience preferable

· Direct client sales skills essential



Skills Required


Strong Networker: Ability to develop and maintain new relationships, regularly attending conferences and events where prospective clients will be and representing HRS to the highest level.


Sales Acumen: Proven track record of driving new business and closing high-value deals. Ability to think creatively and strategically when developing ideas and solutions for clients and solving complex business challenges. Confident presenter with the ability to build rapport quickly.


Communication & Negotiation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals, deliver high-impact presentations, and negotiate favourable contracts.


Data-Driven: Experience using data and insights to develop sales propositions, applying them to develop ideas for clients, which add value and ensure HRS is best in class.


Remote Work: Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely, with strong organisational skills and the ability to nurture multiple client relationships simultaneously.
