Overview

These opportunities are for those who have A-levels or equivalent and are looking to undertake a Degree Apprenticeship (level 6). We will close for applications on Monday 9th March 2026, however, if this opportunity becomes over‑subscribed we will close early, so we recommend applying as soon as possible.

This opportunity is for our Cambridge or Reading offices. The successful candidate will be enrolled onto the BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering course with London South Bank University. Candidates should live a commutable distance from our Bristol or Cardiff offices and the relevant university campus.


Eligibility

Typical qualification requirements:

* A Level BBC - Must include Mathematics and preferably a Science in either Chemistry or Physics (UCAS points: 112)
* T-level (Merit or above) in Construction: Design, Surveying And Planning. (UCAS points: 120)
* BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma DDM in an Engineering subject area, with a minimum of merit in Mathematics and Further Mathematics. (UCAS points: 128)
* BTEC Level 3 National Diploma D*D* in an Engineering subject area, with a minimum of merit in Mathematics and Further Mathematics. (UCAS points: 112)
* Civil Engineering Technician level 3 apprenticeship DD (UCAS points: 96) alongside grade Pass or Distinction at EPA

Job Description

As a paid apprentice, you'll gain hands‑on experience working on real‑world projects that make a difference. Alongside your role, you'll complete classroom‑based learning – either in person or virtually. Upon completion, you'll earn a nationally recognised qualification that leads to exciting career opportunities.

Water Engineering – Designing Resilient Infrastructure

Join our Water Division, a centre of excellence tackling climate change, ageing infrastructure, and population growth. You'll contribute to safe, sustainable water systems for generations to come.


What You'll Do

* Design pipelines, water and wastewater treatment facilities through feasibility, outline, and detailed stages.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, sustainable solutions.
* Support projects from planning and modelling to construction, commissioning, and handover.
* Use digital tools to enhance design quality and efficiency.
* Grow your technical and project management skills through mentoring and training.
